Get Your Ex Back – Breakup Rules

Getting back together with your ex is completely different from when you first met.

Once you’ve been in a relationship, you and your ex have a history.

So you need to recognize that the techniques you used to attract your ex in the first place – such as flirting – won’t necessarily work when you try to get your ex back after a breakup.

Here are 4 breakup rules you should follow:

1. Don’t become a “friend” to your ex

Don’t misunderstand me here.

I don’t mean you ignore your ex. If you talk to your ex or bump into your ex you still remain cheerful, courteous, and positive – that will go a long way if you want to get back together.

But if you want to get your ex back, you don’t want to be seen as “a friend.” You want to be thought of as that special person in your ex’s life.

See the difference? It might be a subtle difference, but it’s a very important one if you want to get back together with your ex.

Sure, when you’re in a relationship you’re friends. But you don’t want to fall into the “friend zone” where your ex considers you “just a friend.”

So you don’t want to fall into the trap of thinking that if you remain “friends” your ex will come running back to you or you have a better chance of getting back together. That won’t help you get your ex back.

Instead, you want to be thought of as someone special.

2. No gifts

Guys, especially, fall into this trap.

“I’ll just give her a nice gift and everything will be okay,” they think to themselves.

Trouble is, giving a gift to your ex girlfriend proves to her that you just don’t “get it.”

You don’t understand what’s wrong with the relationship.

Remember: No gifts.

3. Avoid snooping around to find out what your ex is doing all the time

I realize it’s painful not knowing what your ex is doing. After all, when you were together, you and your ex used to know what each other was up to all the time.

But a breakup changes that. You no longer have the privilege of knowing what your ex is doing.

And if you “check up” on your ex – and your ex finds out – it will be seen as an intrusion and push your ex further away from you.

4. Don’t interfere in your ex’s life

Suppose your ex is dating someone else.

It might hurt you and depress you to see your ex with someone else.

But the worst thing you can do is to interfere in some way or to tell your ex not to date.

Chances are, if your ex is in a new relationship, it will be a rebound relationship.

So the best thing to do is to put your “game” face on and work on your plan to get your ex back.
